Dosage varies depending on the condition and response to the therapy

Toremifene is used to treat breast cancer in women post menopause. It is an anti-estrogen and works by blocking the estrogen effect on specific body tissues especially breast tissues thereby stopping or slowing the growth of cancer.

Toremifene- How to use

1. Take the medication with or without food by mouth
2. You should use this tablet as directed by the physician. Dosage varies depending on the condition and response to the therapy.
3. While using toremifene, avoid grapefruit or its juice.
4. If you miss a dose, take it immediately. Do not take two doses at one go.
5. Toremifene can be absorbed by our body through skin or lungs hence those women who are pregnant should stay away from the dust of the medication.

Safety Information 

1.The medicine may cause dizziness if its taken with alcohol or with certain medicines. Do not take unsafe tasks or drive unless you are sure how your body responds to this drug.
2. Toremifene has been shown cause impact on fetus. So if you become pregnant consult your doctor. 
3. If you are allergic to any content of toremifene, do not use it.
4. Don't take toremifene , if you are already taking ondansetron, clozapine or quetiapine.
5. Do not breast feed while using toremifene.

Side Effects

1.While using the medication, several side effects including nausea, dry eyes, vomiting, sweating etc. may occur. Consult your doctor in such cases.
2. Toremifene may increase the risk of uterine cancer. If you notice changes in your menstrual cycle, vaginal bleeding, pressure below belly button,immediately consult an expert.
3. Keep your doctor informed if any of these serious side effects occur- muscle pain or swelling, depression, constipation, fever, chills, clumsiness, unusual chest pain, tiredness, swelling of tongue, mouth or face 
4. Toremifene had shown causing a serious irregular heartbeat- QT Prolongation.
